Finally, was able to get back on the water after a stint on the IL.

Bob and I met up at 6:45a and once we got everything together, we were off to the 1st spot.

This is where he took the skunk off....with this big fella!

He may have gone 7-8" but glad he is a survivor!

Water temps ranged from 68-70 all day for us.

Bob caught a 14.25"er here as well.

And a 13"er...

He caught his on the Neko rig and chatterbait.

I was just watching....

We headed up river and I finally got my skunk off!

Bob caught some more...

Then I caught one that went 15.25", biggest of the day at that time.

We went back to the 1st place and Bob proceeded to catch a nice 15.5"er for big fish of the day.

We ended up floating and island where I caught a couple of more.

As did Bob.

At the end, Bob had 5 smallies and a LMB, I had 3 smallies and a rock bass.

I caught mine on a tube, old style Bumble Bee spinner bait (13" smallie crushed it) and one of DrXfish's ned rigs (the one that went 15.25") that i found in one of the honey holes!

Great day to be out but it did get warm around noon time. We ain't used to it...yet!

What I forgot to mention was that both Bob and I had 5-6 fish on but never got them in the boat. A couple of jumps as well. There were not bites, they were on for more than a few turns of the reel...aaaaargh!

Another fun day of fishing with Ernie. It was definitely Cuban weather today. I was melting and Ernie wore long pants and a long sleeve shirt. Truck dash thermometer showed 93 when we left.

Nice!  I don't think I've ever seen a rock bass in the Potomac.  It's been years since I've caught one in the 'doah, they were my bread and butter on that river in the early and mid 90's.

A few years back I've caught one around Landers and another in the Lansdowne area.
