I had a chance to fish the bank of Royal Lake yesterday. Worked the West side of the lake fishing the bank from the various parts of the trail that offer water access. Water was fairly stained, maybe 12 inches of visibility. Looks like the recent cool weather has pushed the vegetation levels down. I mostly used a baby brush hog on a shakey head, and landed a small bass from next to a submerged log
and another slightly larger one from an overhanging bush
Switched to 4 inch paddle tail swim bait and only got interest from a greddy bluegill whose eyes were clearly bigger than his stomach. He wasn't even hooked, but the bait was wedged in his mouth folded over double and I was able to lift him out of the water.

Usually whenever I find a body of water that has a war mouth it is pretty much the only fish that lives there
