10/14/18 Lower Potomac

I headed out of Gravelly Point early in search of some LM and Stripers.  Beautiful sunrise.

I struggled at first, but finally caught a small Striper on a Mann's stretch 1 minus.

I moved around and got rained on for a bit.  Here's the waterfront in SW.

I lost a big catfish that broke off my 10 pound floro and took my Wiggle Wart.  I could tell by the slime on the line...  Ended up catching one more small striper and 2 small catfish and finally got one 17" LM on a crank.

Worked hard, but the day was comfortable and the cloudy weather kept me hopeful.  There was little to no grass and other than fish activity early, it was hard to find the fish.  I enjoyed the day and caught the 5 fish.  I lost 2 crankbaits and broke another.

Tough deal on the lost baits but that area has claimed many a crank! Lots of lure eaters around...

That waterfront is like another place...what a change!

Time to go fishin' again!

That's different from your usual scenery. You caught some nice fish.

How did you loose the cranks?  Snags?

Think I saw you out there. I was in the big red and white Ranger. Amazing what the mud has done to the grass.
