4-23-18, Cedar

I went after blue gill but never found them.

This time, I doubled my time out there (I know because it was a bigger cigar).....

1st fly caught fish of 2018....on a 4wt.

Then, I couldn't keep these guys away from my fly!

Caught 5!

The bass started chasing as well....

Caught 2 more of them.

Nice 45 minutes of fly catching!

Nice day for it, glad to see you got some fishies. On a side note, it's good you found something to do so you'll stop biting those nails. :-)

I walk twice a day and now I fish in between. Nails are in good shape. Now, I have to get in fishing shape.

Very nice!  I went out to the Shenandoah and only caught 1 15" smallie.  Went out of big eddy.  Windy and stained water.  I do not know that area, so really just worked the shore and some rock ledges.

Not sure I know "big eddy". Boat or wading?

Took the jon.  Big, flat stretch in WV.  Supposed to hold big LM this time of year, but I did not have any luck with that.  I finally hit the headwaters again to catch the smallie before calling it quits.  I saw a mink on the shore and a turkey in the middle of the road when I was leaving.  Warden checked me too.

SloMo's now turning into SirTugAllot - great job sir!  And glad to hear the recovery is positive

DrX - big eddies on the SF - not sure where you launched in WV, but I have a couple thoughts.  Does that mean you now have a WV license and we can fish there?

SloMo No Mo! Now, maybe Three Quarter Mo tho'

It was really good to get some tugs, especially on the fly rod. I've been too chicken to go all fly but it is my favorite way to catch fishies.....

Mark (VRG) use to always carry a fly rod when we'd fish and he's alternate between fly, b/c, and spinning

When I go fly, it’s all or nothing. If I bring casting or spinning, I would gravitate towards that.

I will do more fly this year for smallies and perchies.
