3-28-28, Occoquan

We had a morning window and we took it.....

While it rained a little on the way to the ramp, we had good weather while we searched for shad.

Around 8:10a, Bob scored! The shad are in!!

And he scored a few more times before we left that spot.

We then moved up river where we hammered them last year but no hits whatsoever....so back down to our spot we went and Bob continued to catch 'em!

We were parked on this spot for a bit when a gentleman (using the term very loosely) came down to the shore  huffin' and snortin'. I guess he did not like the fact that we were fishing there. Get up early numskull! He proceed to cast right to the boat, fouling my line so I asked him what the issue was. He said that it was a big river, that I had a boat and for us to leave his spot. Hmmm...who was there 1st? By 3-4 hours?

I did catch one myself!

Bob did well as he had over a dozen. You saw mine.

Biggest was 16.5" and a couple had full belies.

Great way to get the shad deal going!

Thanks for the report, I didn't think they'd be in yet.  I want one hickory for bait, might have to head down to Fredericksburg to see if they're in the Rapp!

I would have gotten some 60 # braid out & snagged his rod right out of his hands
