Got out at daybreak with 26 degrees and a stiff WNW wind making it very cold going across the water. Took a while to find fish, but they would not bite.
So, I gust kept in that spot until someone got hungry. A throwback 18" striper finally hit and got him in the boat to toss back immediately.
The wind was making it almost impossible in this spot, but finally hook a nice striper. It was a battle of boat/wind and decent fish on.....got her in to measure 23.5" and fat . Couldn't take a pic in the boat due to boat/wind control issues. Remembered to take a pic as I started to filet the fish.
Going out after lunch for crappie!

Tried, but wind blew me off the water. Was supposed to go out this morning (Saturday) but 23 degrees at 6:40am and snow flurries on the way until 9 am. How can it be 34 in Ashburn an 23 here? Not getting in the boat until snow goes away.......not all by myself.

Good choice. Sounds like the fish need a breather too. At this rate, you might get sick of eating Striper.
