Pacemaker Fishing Forum

The 2018 Family & Youth Casting Call is an annual free event sponsored and hosted each spring by the Washington DC DOEE's Fisheries & Wildlife Division (flyer below). This year’s event will take place along the banks of the Anacostia River in Anacostia Park, just outside of the Aquatic Resources Education Center and adjacent to the Skating Pavilion (1900 Anacostia Drive).

In addition to fishing, participants participate in angler education activities and explore displays about watersheds and conservation of our aquatic resources. All equipment, bait, and angling instruction is provided for youth participants.

The Fisheries for Veterans Project (www.f4v.org) will be assisting the DOEE for this event and are helping to solicit experienced fishing volunteer fishing instructors to assist participants in fishing activities and learning the basics of fishing/fish biology in a fun, supportive family-based setting.
