Bob and I were on the water just past 8......air temps in the mid 30's, water temp at 40. Cold and crisp!

We tried many places only to get Pepe!

We did see quite a few kitties...threw a few baits at them, including tapping them with  a jig, but they wanted no part of them.

Not one single bite!

I know they hide for the winter but it is not in the Algonkian area......

It was another beautiful day, even if we didn't find their hiding place. Set a new personal best time getting home. Only took an hour and twenty minutes.

If you all couldn't find them then it is definitely tough fishing Looks relaxing though. The weather warmed up nicely today.

Ok I used to fish that area in the early 80's Big Smallies and I do mean big smallies where caught in the deep pockets with tubes dragged on the bottom. We filled the tube with smelly jelly kraw scent or Lock jaw garlic scent. It was slow but worked. Fished it in Dec several times.

Old Glenn Peacock trick.

That's a name from the past.....

We fished tubes very slow, almost fell asleep but Bob and I lamented that we forgot to bring the smelly stuff.
