7-11-7, Potomac River

Joe wanted to take his son Jake out on the river for a little striper fishing so I contacted Capt. Dennis and off we went for an afternoon/evening trip!

We would fish above the bridge most of the time.

Jake's 1st 2 fish were a white perch and a croaker.

Keeper 22"!

After catching 60+ stripers, 4-5 white perch, a coaker and a small cat, we hit the power plant at 9:15.

Several stripers were landed...

...as well as this fat cat that Jake caught, smashed a slash bait!

Fish were landed on 5" soft plastics with 1/2 oz jig heads. Of course, I had to be different and used some old school jigs and paddle tail. We also used slash baits and caught a few on top water.

We caught 3-4 fish that were 19"+ but the 22 was the only keeper.

Still, it was a great trip. Fished in many new places.

As always, fishing with Capt. Dennis is a treat and we got a bonus history lesson on the man that shot President Lincoln.

Time to go fishin' again!
