6-20-17, UP

Mike and I met at the ramp at 6:00a....

....and off we went! Air temp in the mid 60's and water temp in the high 70's to start.

The 1st spot (close by ledges) did not produce but almost every other spot gave us at least 1!

Mike took his skunk off quickly....

and I followed suite (don't know what happened to the picture).

Then he started catching 'em good!

Including a 17 incher!

I caught a few a s well!

We then went to another ledge by the golf courses and caught some and then went up to the springtime hole and caught a bunch more, nothing big but all tough fighters!

And...a nice LMB!

After the trolling motor died (did not charge it up) we went back for a drift and we (well, mostly Mike) caught some more including another 17 incher for Mike!

Not sure if we caught 40 fish or not, but we were close. As I mentioned above, Mike did most of the catching. He was elated with the way the smallies fight.

Tubes ruled the day.

Great day out!

Re: 6-20-17, UP

I told Mike that I felt it was a slow day. He said he had a blast. I think that the fact that he outfished me by 3/4-1 was why.

BTW, MD side was very stained as was Goose Creek.

Happens every time it rains hard.  No Whopper Plopper bite?  For shame...  They are biting hard though.  Too sunny today.  Gotta find 'em.

Stain must have come from the Monocacy

Looks like the 'mac's doing good for you

No question....tight caramel line until close to Algonkian. The further up we went the clearer the water was.

The Goose was heavily stained as well but not enough current to mingle with the 'mac.

Thanks for taking me out E, fishing on the front of your boat is always a treat. You're always a gracious host who puts your guest before yourself - a true class act.

It's been years since I've caught a nice smallmouth. Man what a thrill! Hope we get to do it again soon.
