Goose Creek float on Saturday 4/29

Myself and another friend are going to do a quick float down Goose Creek to the Potomac looking to tangle some SMBs this Saturday 4/29.  Anyone interested in joining us?  Canoes, yaks and other shallow draft boats only.

You may catch largemouth or fall fish there too

Looking forward to that report. I've always wanted to fish that stretch so I enjoy hearing about it. Unfortunately I'm not available this Saturday.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Good luck, that stretch wasn't very productive for me the beginning of last week.  One smallie right at the start, another one  on the MD side of the river half way to Lansdowne and a dink LMB as I started back up the creek.

I'm probably going to launch at Brunswick and motor up the river and work my way back.  I need to head to Martinsburg afterwards.

Hope the river level drops - it shot up after all the rain we got:  https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?site_no=01644148

Tangled with what I think was a largemouth last weekend while walking the shore.  It came up and hit my spinnerbait.

Goose Creek is high but green water, very fishable. River is fast and dirty due to lots of water coming from the 'doah.

Dang it! RE river levels.   And the Potomac was looking pretty decent at the American Legion yesterday.  Not so much today.

I posted my report.  "Not so good" as I recall Coach Spurrier once said.  Also I noticed that Goose Creek near Leesburg has it's own USGS gauge: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv?site_no=01644000
