4-13-17, Cedar

After fishing the 'mac today, I was out on the deck talking to George on the phone regarding our fishing trip tomorrow when I spotted some fish activity.

I hustled out and tried a drop shot minnow but did not get a bite.

So....I got the trusty fly rod and proceeded to hammer the crappie. A couple of them were @12". Probably caught 8-10.

It was all I could do to keep the pesky BG's from biting my fly (an old beat up black bug of some type).

Not a bad 40 minutes spent!

Nice work and beautiful panfish!! Is that a white Crappie in the first pic or is it just a lighter colored black crappie?

Only 1 nice BG and a small bass in 30 minutes at lunch time today. They did not seem interested. I dangled a fly in front of a couple of BGs and they were mostly ignoring me.

Crappie were not to be found....time for a bike ride to enjoy the nice weather.
