10-11-08 Patuxent River-Solomons Island

Dr. Mo and I launched at 12:30 PM and fished the falling tide untit 6:00 PM. At first we tried one trolling pass going up river across Pt. Patience going north but there was too much boat traffic to keep a smooth ride so we put the trolling stuff away and started to perch fish the creeks along the shore. Things were hit and miss until about 4:00 PM. Up until then we caught about ten verrrry small rockfish, some no longer than a pencil, and an almost keeper redfish. When Mo. hooked the redfish we thought that maybe we would have a keeper but it was 15-16 inches. About 4:00 Mo. suggested that we try a shoreline that we had tried earlier when the boat traffic made it too choppy to fish and that was where we finally connected with the perch. We caught about 80+ perch, ten small rockfish  and one redfish for the day.
