CCA NoVA meeting and speaker schedule for 2017

Meetings (unless otherwisw noted) are held at Neighbors Restaurant, 262 Cedar Lane, Vienna, VA from 6-8:30p. We have the special meeting room from 6:00 – 9:30 – and many of us will be showing up for dinner at 6:00.  Meeting topics/discussion will start at 7:00. The wait staff at Neighbors will gladly serve us food and beverages throughout the evening, but if you plan to eat dinner, it might be best to arrive at 6:00. *Neighbors management provides CCA with this room free of charge, and although you are not required to purchase food and drink, we encourage you to order, and enjoy!

January 10th- 2017 Kickoff Mtg. Agenda Items:

    - Reef Ball/Habitat Initiative – Rich Redler has been very active lining things up – time to add volunteers, and schedule a Reef Ball Pouring event.
    - Banquet Auction – Form the Committee and openly discuss ideas for the 2017 Auction.
    - Meeting speakers – Need to fill the calendar – get input and assign people to contact potential guest speakers.
    - Tradeshow in Doswell, VA – Tom Welch is leading that effort – he will need some volunteers/help.
    - Volunteerism – We are in need of help and need to get more folks active in volunteering – specifically in Government affairs, etc.

February 7th – Captain Dennis Fleming

March 18th - 2017 Banquet/Auction. This will be held at the Kena Shriners Hall, Fairfax VA.

April 8th & 9th -  Tradeshow/Special Event -– Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival, Doswell, VA – We will be there at the show with a CCA exhibit with the aim to create awareness on Conservation Issues, and generate new Members. We plan to utilize a raffle system for all new members that sign up.  Our plan is to use a pair of Costa Sunglasses as the raffle prize. 

April 11th –Rick Elyar – CCA Maryland, Oyster Restoration -Costa Spring Raffle announced -  which will benefit the Annual Kids trip in August

May 9th– Rob Snowhite, Fly Fishing local water

June 13th– Speaker TBD - Costa Raffle Winning ticket will be pulled at the end of the meeting.

July – No meeting

August – Save a kid – Catch a Fish.  We host a group from Big Brothers & Sisters of Greater Washington on a Chesapeake Bay Fishing Trip.

September 12th – Chris Karwacki – Tangier Island Fishing - Costa Fall Raffle announced – Habitat project will benefit from the proceeds

October 10th -  Speaker TBD -

November 14th -  Speaker TBD - Costa Fall Raffle concludes
