Well, I was down there for the original event on Oct. 10 but Matthew got in the way. But...the event was rescheduled.
Here is the write up and pictures!
Not even Hurricane Matthew could stop the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Areacommunity from holding the 2nd Annual Jupiter Inlet Veterans Family Fishing Classic on 23 Oct 2016!
42 Veterans and their families enjoyed a day of fishing, tours of the historic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, guided nature tours, and best of all camaraderie with other families and the community. And yes fish were caught - see the photos below.
We at www.FishingCommunity.Org would like to make a special shout out to the West Palm Beach Fishing Club who provided rods, reels and expertise; American Legion Post 271 for their support; Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum for site preparations and tours; Fishing Headquarters for access to their radio show, bait and tackle; Jupiter Bait and Tackle for bait; Tommy Bahama for lunch; all the volunteers who selfishly gave their time and effort; and last but not least the Bureau of Land Management for establishing the Fisheries for Veterans Project www.f4v.org partnership which provided the vehicle for this event and future events.
Tight Lines!
