Bob and I decided to hit one of hi favorite spots on the yak. We had a short window as some wind was predicted around 11AM.
We were on the water shortly after 7....
....and out to the bay we went...calm!
Bob stared catching right away...I think he started with an 11+ and some other eaters....I was a bit slower but I was also trying out a bunch of different lures. Some got nipped at and some got notin'!
I settled on one of George's home made jigs on a spinner and a Mepps with a single hook. Both did well but the Mepps did better in the deeper water.
Potty break!
When the winds kicked in, I went to a shadowed area in a cove and got slammed but the wind was pushing me away from the action. Too hard to hold so I started my trek back and the bay chop started! Waves breaking over the bow...rockin' and rollin' for sure.
We were back at the ramp at noon.
many a fish caught but Bob noted that August is best for this area. I sure hope the perch aren't starting to their deeps jaunts yet!
