Got to the lake at around 4:30 after work and started pounding it for crappie......but only 3 fish in a hour and a half. About 6pm I notice lots of crappie swirls way down the lake and out in the middle. Hump it over there and it looks like an acre of crappie swirls and just out of my casting distance. I can cast about 40 yds with the 6 lb braid, but they are 10 yds further out. Cast with no luck for 30 minutes and then they start moving towards shore......hundreds and hundreds of swirls! Then I catch one on almost every cast until 8:08 pm. Final tally was 90 crappie and could have caught a 100 if I didn't have to meet my daughter for dinner. Just non-stop action for 90+ minutes. Most fish were cookie cutter 9-10" fish, but several slabs were mixed in. Here are the best 5:
12.75"
12.75"
11.0"
11.5"
12.0"
Best 5 = 60.00"

More frustrating to the guy that came over after watching me land the first 40 or so. He could not cast far out enough and never got a bite while I caught another 40-50 standing right next to him.

Wow that is awsome! I was looking and turning my old rood and reel over to crappie set up and not bass and giving it a try.

That's so funny, as I was leaving I noticed more swirls around where I was. I was wondering what was nipping at the legs of my frog! I was there briefly before I went moved further down the lake. Nice job!

Went today when my kitchen pass was only good from 3-4:30. Felt cheated with only 18 crappie and no slabs .........I'm just spoiled after yesterday's bonanza .
