Day started at 6:30 with an hour drive to the river. Met up with DrX and when we put in, the temperature gauge in my car read 39dF but the weather reports promised that the temps would be in the mid-60's. We took the Discovery 158 today & got it wet.
Fishing was slow until we stopped at a small rocky beach to stretch our legs out and wade the area a bit.
As the water warmed, we picked up many 'fat averages'. Last week swim baits were the ticket, this week, couldn't catch bronze on one, but did find a few green carp with them. Tubes in various shades of green & pumpkin were key.
Finally at 6pm I said "Hey, it's already six and we still have two more miles". At that point we packed it up and paddled out, ran the shuttle, then drove home. Sore today but it was worth it.
Had a great time John & looking forward to the next.

Ernie - spent many days paddling a canoe & sleeping on islands & shores at night. My buddy & I counted over 100 days & nights on East Coast rivers floating out of canoes.
Andrew - send me an email rd400d at Hotmail dot com - I typically do not post much detail on where I fish on open internet boards.
