3-25-16, Chesapeake Bay

It was with great anticipation that Bob, Andrew, Jeff and I were looking to fish the power plant with Capt. Dennis today. After all, the last 3 years, on this same weekend, we've had epic fish catching.

We meet at the boat at 0605 (that's really early when you take into account that we are almost 2 hours from where the boat was).

When we got to the drift area, there were already 4-5 boats there!

We started slinging and in no time, Bob got hooked up with this monster!

It was realty slow in the wee hours of the morning but we got a spectacular sunrise.

And Jeff then gets hooked up with this 26" beauty!

But that was it save another 1/2 runts....

No one was doing well and there were some well known fishermen out there. Fact is, we marked no fish! Where were they? It seems that yesterday was slow too after 3-4 days of good fish catching.

Yes, it was disappointing but we kept hoping and fishing...thinking that it would turn on. It never did so we actually cancelled for tomorrow.

Still, I am glad we went despite the poor catching.

There is always next year!

There was a full moon and very little tide. Maybe that's to blame but if there are no fish around, we ain't gonna catch any.

Time to go fishin' again!
