The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), FishingCommunity.Org (FCO) and Touch of Class Event Management, invite you to the inaugural 2016 Fletcher’s Boathouse Shad Fishing Gala, an informal, shore and boat shad fishing event for DC-area government and NGO fisheries program representatives, and Department of Defense and Veterans Service organizations. The Gala date is Wednesday, April 6, 8am-2pm and is located at 4940 Canal Road, NW, Washington, DC 20007. Click here for driving directions (DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS). This event is designed to promote dialogue and develop new project partnership connections for government fisheries, veteran organizations, and Department of Defense representatives while fishing the American and Hickory shad run at the historic Fletcher’s Boathouse in Washington DC.
This event is part of the BLM/FCO Fisheries for Veterans Project, using America’s public lands and fishing resources to revitalize and reconnect American communities and heroes. A $25 personal contribution for each participant is requested to cover the following:
•Provided boat rentals
•All fishing gear will be provided (or bring your own)
•Catered lunch, snacks, and water
•Brief commemorative kick-off ceremony with optional representative and partner messaging
•DC fishing licenses not provided, but available for purchase on site or online by clicking here ($6.50 14-day nonresident)
Please register by March 30 by visiting http://f4v.ketrick.org/shad2016
And we encourage you to extend the invite to those that you feel appropriate to our theme.
Of course, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at paul@ketrick.org or 703-508-0065 or David Hu at dhu@blm.gov or 202-912-7404.
Hope you will be able to join us!
