4-28-07, South Branch Shenandoah

Josh and I floated part of the south branch on Sunday in his awesome pontoon boat. It was a beautiful day and a great trip. Josh was a great host; He knew where the fish were and even let me catch a nice Largemouth. (See Pictures) We caught and released many Smallies, and missed many more. Josh also caught a 6-7 pound catfish with a crank bait.

Sadly we did see some signs of the ongoing fish kill problem in the river. Fish with lesions and fungus, and a few dying small fish in the eddies. It is so sad that a river that beautiful is having such problems. It is nice to know that there are many people like Josh that are committed to help solve the problem.

Great job guys.....thanks for the report. Cool trip!!

It's sad about the conditions but there are many groups that care. Hopefully, the politicians will start to pay more atention.

I have fished with Josh several times over the last few years and he is a classic fisherman. He flat out enjoys being out on the water. I am looing forward to making a trip with him in the near future.

A good day indeed - luckily my shoulders are rare, and not well done - the heat and burning sensation has gone away already.
Thanks for joining me Jeff, we'll have to do it again.

we'll have to expand some horizons, find some more water some more fish, and write some new stories.

we caught several fish, including the largemouth above on buzzbaits - which is always a good sign in my book

now it's yesterday! roll
