The future of Beaverdam meeting, Oct. 27

Please mark your calendars to attend this important meeting.

Things are looking really good for this resource. Next step is what it will look like when it reopens.

As you know, NoVA Regional Park Authority will run the facility.  Along with LoWaterr, they have partnered with UVA to study what can be done.

The meeting on the 27th will allow the stakeholders (users of the resource) to weigh in on what should be done.

There will be several stations of information and the meeting is designed to be highly interactive.

They want to hear from you!!!

I hope many can make it....to help shape the future for this great resource. We only get to do it once!

Please take a look at this short video if you have not already...

Re: The future of Beaverdam meeting, Oct. 27

Huge turnout last night. Lots of HS rowers but all users of the res were well represented.

LoCo Water and Nova Parks did an incredibly great job of listening to everyone's concerns and ideas.

This is a work in progress and the users of the resource were heard.

Agreed Ernie, great meeting. I also met a guy from LoCo water last night who is a good fisherman and has been fishing the reservoir (successfully) this year. It made me feel like we have "one of us" on the inside.

The turnaround at LoCO water is incredible.....all ideas are on the table to make this a beautiful (but passive) facility. As they work with UVA and others, there will be more meetings like this to keep the public informed and energized.

Re: The future of Beaverdam meeting, Oct. 27

Thanks Bruce.....this really was a community at work. Like minded folks that wanted to see this resource shared with the public. Many hands at play here. Dan Turlik was a strong leader in the community. Kudos to Paul Gilbert from NoVA Parks, he been the steady hand through all of this. The folks at LoCo Water have been terrific as well.
