Hit Beaverdam Creek Reservoir Saturday afternoon with the Hobies and focused on deep water drop-offs and rock bluffs. Caught two nice ones (5.5 lb and 5.2 lb) practically back to back, but no other bites. Nice to have a fish drag your yak around the lake! Caught them both on a purple rattle jig with a money-craw trailer.
Caught one about the same size last weekend on a lipless crankbait and had a monster flip off (had to be pushing 7 lbs) so the big girls are still in there.
If anyone is interested, the latest version of Google Earth shows the reservoir drawn down quite a bit (100 feet or more of shoreline exposed in some places) and it easy to pick out rocks, points and structure.
