Occoquan Reservoir - 8/1/15

Pretty much the same result as last time, but used a much different pattern.  All of my fish came buried in the grass; they bit a green pumpkin baby brush hog under a pegged 3/8 oz tungsten flipping weight.  Got another pretty good one too!

I was looking at tournament results, and HOLY MOLY there are some BAGS brought in.  Guess I need to find three or four of these guys in a trip if I think I'm gonna compete!

Nice looking fish.  I have never chased them in the grass.  What pound test did you use?  Is the water clear?

I was using 30 lb power pro without a problem. The water was visibly stained but not bad. I didn't have a depth finder in my rental, but someone I talked to said they were marking fish in 28-40 feet. I'd imagine a lot of those were crappie though.
