winter afternoons

as Emily Dickinson once said- there is a certain slant of light. .

when I get off work- if I do not delay- I barely have time to get to the water and fish for a few minutes

to me these moments are more precious than any throughout the year

I ignore the peculiar glances. clearly some wonder what it is that I am doing. perhaps they think that all the fish in the pond go to Florida for the winter, I don't know.
then again these are the sort who become perplexed when they learn that I fish- but do not remove what I catch.

for me- winter time means either Micro crankbaits or tiny grubs.
the activity is a study in patienCe and faith.

the fish and managed to catch I made more brilliant by the Leaden sky.
it is something of a sepia effect, underscored with a perspective of Ansel Adams, and then highlighted by a talented Beautition

all creatures great and small are welcome in this H
ouse
