Temperature Changes

So, I noticed that the weather report indicated that the temperature was going from 22 degrees in the morning to nearly 50 degrees in the afternoon. I'd read that extreme upward temperature shifts can cause warm water fish to go into a feeding frenzy.

Well....here is proof that its true: The bass range from 2.5lbs to 3.8lbs. The channel cats range from 10.5lbs to 12.8lbs....oh and did I say that I caught them all in 2hrs? The biggest channel cat took nearly 10mins to land and I didn't take a photo of one bass because it was foul hooked.

Re: Temperature Changes

I calculate 13.2 lbs for the 4 bass.  Is that correct for the leaderboard?

Updated top 5 AV Bass........ big_smile

Re: Temperature Changes

I took a walk today and was surprised by the shoreline activity in a couple of places. The fishies were stirring.

3" Soft bait that imitates shad for most of the bass......watermelon/black flake.

Saw the cat's moving through the water (mud trail) switched to 5" worms watermelon...slow drag across the bottom...(the Curly bump) got the catfish and one bass.  BTW:  I've seen the mud trails in the water before, but always thought they were created by carp...threw the 5" worm ahead of them just for grins...and well, the rest is caught in the pictures.

Seems the bass and cat's were somewhat grouped together.

Happy Holidays,

Fishfry.
