Mo and I fished for white perch today in honor of Carl Johnson's passing 4 years ago....hard to believe time has gone by so fast.
For those who did not know about Carl, he was a master percher and quite the character. He taught many of us not only how to chase perch but how to enjoy the process.
We put in at Pier7 on the South River.
As we headed out towards the mouth of the river.....we saw many grand homes.
We settled in at Fishing Creek and got our skunks off!
Every place we tried, we would catch a couple. At one point, we were way back in the creek and Mo made a cast to some rocks. He got SLAMMED! The fish took some lien and then he got off. I have never seen MO so despondent! He will dream about that fish tonight for sure.
At the north point of the creek, we found the best hole and took MANY a perch from there including the biggest of the day at 10.5"!
We then went back to the South River and explored sme more but only caught 1 perch in there. Hmmmm...no perch in the river or they were not biting at low tide? Either way, we were surprised by the lack of catching!
Anyway, Mo just put down a deposit on a house on Warehouse Creek so we set out to find it from the water. Here it is...
We looked around and I really liked what I saw from the yard....
I can envision a center console there as well.....I wonder if I can find my old Hydra Sports....
Great time with Mo and a grand finish at Ledo's Pizza!

Glad you found the perch.
We moved around enough to know that they are not in the river in full force....

Wow $20 is steep. But nice catching. I often fish the shore of kent island facing east along the rip rap and do very well on large perch there. But at low tide it's terrible. I fish with two and three inch power grubs on 1/8oz jig heads or 2" gulp and sometimes add a spinner. Deadly perch buster.

Jon- Steep is right but we wanted to go out of there to explore the river a bit.
I use the Woody spinner (feathered) and Mo uses chartreuse curly tails. Killer baits for sure.
I am a bit concerned as to how late they are moving into the backs of the creeks. I have heard the came from other perch searchers. I know guys have been doing well jiggin' them up in deeper water but we like the shallow game.
