5/11 Beaverdam

I figured I should hit Beaverdam before they close it down sad

Well, I launched my yak and realized my camera had no charge.  So no pictures, unfortunately.  About 5 minutes in, I switched from a crankbait to a Spro frog.  On the first cast with the frog, I nailed an 18.25 incher.  The frog in reallllyyy shallow water seemed to be the key today.  I was out in the dead afternoon and got 6 largemouth on the frog.  I also threw a wacky worm and got 2 bass on that as well.

All bass were from 14.75 - 18.25.  Awesome day fishing Beaverdam.

Nice - but Beaverdam's been closed for almost a month now.

Re: 5/11 Beaverdam

I thought that too.  But I read an article saying they were posting signs this week.  I went there and there were a ton of people out and NO signs.  In fact, as I passed the church, there was a big sign that said "Reservoir Access."

Nice day at the res......

There appears to be some funny business going on with this. Many have sent comments to Loudoun Water and ZERO responses.

Time to go fishin' again!

Re: 5/11 Beaverdam

I went with full expectations of being turned around by a no-trespassing sign and heading to Algonkian.  But, I was shocked to find no signs and to find the parking lot full of boaters as it has been in past summers.

This is the article that says signs will be installed this week, though.

Also, in talking with a few of the Loudoun rowing coaches this past weekend, I revealed why they have access.  They had to sign a lot of waivers and they have their own liability insurance.  So if someone gets hurt, they cannot sue Loudoun County.
