Re: NoVA CCA 14th Annual Dinner/Auction- March 15

I would be personally gratified if some of the Forum contributors would come to this event.

Dinner, drinks (my son Dave is the bartender) entertainment (Shawn Kimbro's Mountain Soul) and a year's subscription to the "Tide" for $50!  Heck, the cake, made by Chocolate Passion Pastry, is worth 1/5 of the price of admission!

Plus, you get a chance to bid on some great items and maybe win some raffles (if you buy tickets).

If you have any questions just email me or call me....would love to see some of you there.

Re: NoVA CCA 14th Annual Dinner/Auction- March 15

These are the Live Auction items:

1. Severn River Ecology/Fishing-Trip - Join CBF Senior Naturalist and CCA/MD Executive Board member Capt. John Page Williams for a half-day trip for two on the Severn River above Annapolis that will weave together fishing and Chesapeake Bay ecology. Date to be mutually agreed upon during calendar year 2014.  Trip donated by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation & Capt. John Page Williams .

2. "Rose River Farm – 1 Night stay at Luxury Cabin for 4 people – Sunday through Thursday only - Western style fly fishing for trophy trout in Virginia - Dry fly and nymph fishing at its finest - our private water on the Rose River is cold, crystal clear, spring fed water that has a river rock base with very little sediment.
The cabins are perfect for a weekend get-a-way, hiking Old Rag, the SNP, doing a wine tour or just relaxing in the mountains. The cabins are very private as they are located on a separate 20 acre parcel that is catty corner to the main Farm property
The cabins are really unique with their 17 foot ceilings and round walls.  They are over 1,100 square feet each and feature two bed rooms with two full baths.  Each bedroom has two double beds. The living room features a domed 17 ft ceiling, leather club furniture and a jumbo42”  flat screen TV with satellite, DVD player and even an Ipod docking stereo. They have a full kitchen and a living / dining room with leather club furniture and a nice big round table perfect for a little cards after a day on the River!
The cabins feature a wall of windows and a big porch to capture the spectacular views of Old Rag Mountain, the Rose River Valley, and a stocked pond (bass, bluegill and trout) that is strictly for cabin guests…..miles of Views.
There is a park style charcoal grill and a big outdoor fire pit with wood supplied. Fishing (rod) fee not included, expires 12-15-14.
All booking can be done online at the Farm Website cabins page.                                                                                                                                                                         "

3. "Stock USA made Schrade fillet knife.  This knife was made by Cammilus.  The knife handles have been replaced with Jade handles – specifically, Dease Lake Jade from British Columbia. It has a 9” stainless steel blade.  This piece is really one-of-a-kind and probably the only one in existence.

Details on the jade. This Jade is just full of feathers which are a natural structure in Jade.  In this Jade they are just stacked atop one another so the spine and bottom look completely different than the face of the scales.  It is a beautiful Jade that takes a very good polish.  The feathers give this Jade a bit of texture. The knife comes with a sheath, the original box and a card of authenticity from the artisan, Michael Hoover of Art in Stone out of Fox Island, WA."

4. Framed 17" x 15" Limited Edition  Print of speckeld trout feeding in the surf.  It also includes as part of the framed picture a CCA 1991 Stamp featuring the picture.  The artist is John P. Cowan. – #004/100
