The original plan was to go out of Buzz's and head over to teh islands but it would be a rough ride. that was later confirmed by Capt. Walleye Pete who went over in his pilot house 27 footer. Capt. Brady has an open CC of 22'!
We left the ramp at 0640...it was a respectable 54 degrees. The 2 other crew members (Barry who was furloughed and Bill who is retired) had never fished with Capt. Brady.
So here is the deal, I was not going to take fish pictures unless they were keepers....
In the 1st 3 hours, we caught many a short fish on top water. There different lures were used and all had success.
We hit a whole bunch of places...some had fish on 'em and some did not.
We then switched to jugs as we made our rounds. On one particular point, I got slammed and noted that the fish did not feel like a striper.
It was not nor was it a keeper but it was a redfish and he looked and felt good!
OK, so I broke my promise....
Towards the end, it started to drizzle and I noted that the fish wanted a faster lure so we all started jigging faster and the fish turned on. We caught a bout a dozen or so.....
....this one being the last one before we packed it in.
We didn't set the world on fire but we had a good time and caught 4+ dz fish....can't beat that on a Tuesday.
