I found a new section of goose creek a few weeks ago and saw some big smallies in it the first time i went there but couldnt get them to bite. I went again today and had a great day. Caught all the fish on a small topwater spook. The hits where crazy!!
Started out the day 3 casts in with this nice 16.25" smb that was a solid 1.89 lbs. He SLAMMED it.
3 casts later a little farther up stream another nice 15" smb slurped the spook. This one went about 1.5 lbs.
It was a little slow for a while and i got 2 more 10 inch smb so i decided to try downstream a bit. That was definitely the right decision because on the first cast at the new spot this fat 16.5" smallie slammed the lure. I missed him on the first swipe but i quickly made a follow up cast and sure enough he hit again and this time i stuck him. He went 2.2 lbs.
After that fish i lost the lure in a laydown and could not get it back but i did manage to get a decent sized fallifish and 8 inch smallmouth on a baby rage craw. It was definitely a good day fishing considering all those fish came in less than 1.5 hours. I will definitely be heading back to that spot in the near future.

Nice fish! It was nice to meet you at the store the other day, Tyler. Sorry we didn't have the Sammies in the size you were looking for.

Thanks! Nice to meet you too! no problem i decided to take your advise and get the slightly bigger one (since i have a float on the Shenandoah on Wednesday and would not be able to order the smaller size in time) i dont think it will make much of a difference. I cant wait to try it out.

Good choice. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the bigger one worked too.

Wait, looking at this post it couldn't have been "the other day" that you came in, it was either saturday or Sunday (the day I made that post)...man, I need a day off, the days are all running together after 40hours in 3 days

What? No 20 c-class smallie.
You have to raise the bar. lol
I know where a couple 20's live on Goosey - keep at it.

Thanks a lot! School is about to start and your teasing him with 20s on Goose Creek. Now he will never get homework done!!!
.....email me where those 20s are! I can skip work a few days to get them! Who cares if I lose my job.
