8/24, out of Spa Creek

The windy forecast took us to fish the Severn as I knew we could hide a bit.

The crew was Miguel Juarez and his two kids, Morgan and Michael.

We put in at Truxton Park and motored down Spa Creek which is always impressive....

Even though the fishing was rather sow (only 2 stripers and maybe 50 white perch plus a yellow perch), it was a day of 1sts for sure.

Michael scored 1st with his 1st ever WP!

Dad followed with his 1st WP....

...and the his 1st striper!

An almost keeper (17")!

And then Morgan got her 1st ever WP!

All is good in the world now!

I was trying to catch something bigger than 11" for the SRRKC WP tourney but only =managed two that were 10.5". the rest were smaller.

We decided to go to Brewers Pond. That's where Woody would catch few of his giants. W caught a few but nothing big but did manage this yellow perch!

We hit quite a few other spots but we never really got into them and only had a few in the live well. The pressure was on because fish was on the menu for dinner at the Juarez house. So we decided to go back where we started and things picked up. We started to get a few keepers and then we got our 1st double!

Then Michael's reel started screaming and he had a nice one on. Morgan got the net and a very nice 11.75" WP was landed....

...the biggest of the day.

We called it a day around noon after the Severn became a washing machine with all the Saturday boat traffic. A stop at Ledo's completed the day!

Looks like a lot of fun was had. I fished Spa from the hobie last Tuesday. Caught a bunch in front of the condos but only 2 keepers @ 10 1/4 and 11 1/2. They were delicious.

Bob - we didn't catch a one in front of the condos. We fished it at high and low tide.
