8-3-13, out of Deale

They said we may get rain, all we got were a few sprinkles.

Mike, Tyler and I put in at Deale in search of white perch and perhaps some stripers. Mo was already there with Gabriel in his boat. Gabriel's 1st fish for the day was a 12 incher!

The bay looked good and I was temped to go to the other but we chose to stay on this side.

It did not take Tyler long to take the skunk off the boat. This was one of many over 10"!

I called Mo and he was trying a new spot where they caught back to back 12 inchers. Of course we went over there!

We then tried the flats at Holland Point but it was slow....except that Mike got his 1st white perch ever!

We then tried the north side docks and did OK but we decided we wanted more action so we went to Mo's Hole.

And did we catch some perchies!

It was noon stop at times with fish up to 11.75"!

Even the neighbors were getting into the action!

I bet we caught 100 fish here....

It started ti get late and cloudy so we decided to finish at the harbor.

Tyler got hit with a juvie striper...

I got a horse of a perch...only 10" but huge!

We then went back to the trees and scored some more....

We even dropped Tyler off....

He was hammering them on the dock!

All in all it was very good perch fishing after a slow start. A stop at Big Dave's BBQ and the fruit stand finished it all off.

Glad you got into them, did you get some entries for the tourney? After these last 2 long days you'll need a vacation.

Thanks for the great time, Ernie!  Perch fishing on Ultra-Light tackle is definitely a lot of fun.  Definitely different tactics then your standard bass fishing as I quickly learned while losing my first 5 or so fish smile

We had 29 perch all over 10" and 2.5 hours later, I had filleted every single one of them.  Grilled a few last night and they were amazing.  Even my girlfriend loved it!

Mike- remember that we were tossing back 10 and 10.25 inch fish towards the end. Glad you liked them, they are as tasty as they get.

I think I saw you guys come around Holland Point around 7:30am. Looks like your boat goes plenty fast if that was you in the Tracker wink

We punched across to the Hill around 8am and it was a bit bumpy but not unsafe. The wind had laid down nicely around 10:30 and I was able to run full speed on the way back. The Rockfish were still thick as over there - caught a quick limit in about 15-20 mins and continued jigging till around 10:30. Will post up a report and a couple of pics soon.

Nice Craig....that was probably us. I wanted to go accross but decided to stay and slay the perch. I like them better than rockfish anyway.
