20 plus small bass, one 4.67 lb and a 9.2 lb fat cat

Went out in the heat of the day around 2:30 pm today and also later this afternoon, and was suprised to see how active the shallow bite was. Caught well over 20 between 1 and 3 lbs primarily on a strike king caffeine shad reeling fast in top-water mode with walking-the-dog simulation, slow sink, then repeat.  Also slung the always productive jig and managed a nice 4.67 lb.  My old digital scale broke and my new one reads in pounds now, but the clamp and chain make it too long to fit in a pic.

Also caught a nice 9.2 lb catfish on the jig.  She smacked it as soon as it hit the water and was a heck of a fight...tail flopping about sounded like a wounded beaver!  Must have dropped it right in front of her nose though.

Saw some decent bass swimming parallel to shore sometimes in linear schools of 5 or more, but most of the big girls for sight fishing seemed un-interested even with a subtle presentation.
