Went to a local pond and was throwing big swimbaits from 9-2am, lost count of how many blowups (over 15) but landed about 8 and lost about 4, all solid big girls with a few 2s and 4's mixed in, only three pictures I have are of diff fish taken by passerbys early on
Most of my fish were on a floating bluegill type swimbait

Holy smokes....that looks like a fish that you are throwing. Nice work!
Time to get the Choopy baits out.....
Can you tell us what gear you are using to throw that monster bait?

Dobyns 806 swimbait rod, mike long edition paired with a curado 301dsv, for heavier baits (5oz -12oz) I throw on a custom made 8'6" xxh paired with a Calcutta 401te
I was throwing my dobyns last night, here's a shot of my xxh rod, it's spiral wrapped and handle fitted to my arm lenth

Those are nice....I just realized that I have a spiral wrapped semi custom glass rod that I won from the BRHS Fishing Club. It was built by Catoctin Creek. I will give that a shot one day soon....not sure I will be out there between 9p-2a, usually asleep then.
Mono leader?
Braid?
