Ellen and I took the canoe out for a leisurely paddle around the lake........and fishing. We primarily use top water lures. I caught 3 that were all under 2 lbs, but Ellen put this 3-1/2 pound beauty in the canoe. It was spawned out and skinny.......would have pushed 5 lbs prior to bedding out.
Now I'm not the only one with top AV bass in that thread

Nice. Can't even get my wife to watch a fishing show with me much less wet a line! Maybe Father's Day.

I caught a five pounder today. I think it may have gone over but I call it 5 with a clear conscience. There were another half dozen in the 2 to 2 plus range. I also broke off another good one. I will call it a 14 lb bag. All the fish were nice and tubby. I feel the conditions were favorable, particularly considering how clear the water is. If I had more tackle and interest , I feel I could have ground out a few more good ones. As it was, I was more than satisfied to get home ahead of the weather and turn the game on for a while

Glad you got out and scored well but the Nats have been less than impressive lately. Too many of our hitters and not hitting and too many on the DL!

The nats need an emotional catalyst- a cathartic instant to set their minds right. Like anybody else, they will flounder in the wilderness until they come to terms with the real task before them.
