the ides of march

been breezy enough for everyone?

been offline for a while

oh, the waters do get muddy...

it is possible to catch muddy, cold water bass

fished all afternoon sunday

finally, like 6.15pm or so i get the bite

good one, plenty strong too

get a decent look, 5 to 6lbs....

it bit a big mopp jig, with a full super chunk

it is hooked well so i relax a tweak

in the big wind, the trolling motor is on #2 just to hold ground

big bass makes a well timed lunge and clips the ten pound braid off on the propeller

heart sinks like led zeppelin.......

there have been other fish, but it takes grinding like coffee to get it done

Re: the ides of march

my thought was: at least i didnt fall in

and while it was a good fish, it was not a potential record

i watched the bassmaster classic, and saw better fisherman than me lose more important fish

in fact, i saw better fisherman not even able to get quality bites

finally, am i the only guy who gazes across vast and seemingly empty expanse the of village water, and asks-

...what would curly do??
