Caught a nice 5.4 on Saturday using a drop shot rigged with a pumpkin seed curley-tail grub. Had my drag set loose so it was a great fight and nice to land something over 5 lbs. Also tried a crank bait, jig, caffeinee shad and spinner bait with no other takers.
Fished again this morning and managed a decent 3.5 on a rapala jerk bait. Again, the lone catch for the day and no hits on the jig or drop shot.
Couldnt have asked for a nicer weekend in March!

Think that 5-4 was the same fish that you caught back in Jan?
Nice fishes!

Could be. But this guy was on the opposite end of the pond and theres lots of 5 lb plus pigs in there! I probably should start tagging the bigger ones.

Nice....I noticed on my new fangled watch that 10:30AM was PRIME time to fish in this area today.

Gotta PM me where this is..........I don't get many chances to fish outside the Village in the Spring, butI'd like to hit that pond at least once this year.
