What to do on a rainy day

Not a great day for bicycling, hiking, or even sitting on the patio at the pub, so what else can you do? Hit the reservoir of course.

I tend to like rainy days with little to no wind out there so I was expecting a good afternoon. I got on the water around 1530 and, much to my disappointment, didn't see my fish for almost two hours. One thing I've learned about this place is that patience is key. In the next 2 hours I boated only 4 fish but they were pretty decent weighing in at 3lb 8oz, 3lb even, 4lb 2oz and 2lb 1oz. I tried a few different baits today but the fish ate the usual stuff. Some clues in the pictures.

Here are the 2 biggest:

I see the deep crank but I can't see if that was a brush hog in the top picture.  Well done...again!

Time to go fishin' again!
