Goose Creek near evergreen mill

Went out yesterday for 2 hours. I am moving to that area, so i did a lil recon.  Water is fairly low ( 3 feet max).  upstream from evergreen mill looks very good for kayaks, downstream, you need water shoes,  water is 4 inches deep in a few spots.  a few deep spots along the shores that look like they should hold fish, good cover.  however, they weren't biting. probably lazy from the heat.  did manage 1 on a soft plastic.  I saw a couple monsters swim around, they looked lazy and didnt care what i threw at em.

will fish hang out in cover 1-2 feet deep when its a billion degrees outside?  my gut says they always want to be as deep as possible, but when "deep" is 3 feet, where will they go?

Re: Goose Creek near evergreen mill

I've never fished Goose creek before, but river/creek bass will definitely use shallow water when it's hot outside. The fish hanging in current tend to be more aggressive than the ones milling around in calmer pools.
