Home pond and Beaverdam

I fished my home pond Friday afternoon.  Started off with my fly rod and got a couple small bluegills.  I only brought a few lures rather than my whole tackle box. I switched to a swimbait and promptly got it stuck in a tree.  I was able to break the branch off but at the same time the line broke and the swimbait landed in the water.  Then I changed to my favorite spoon and moved.  First cast I got a small bass from the same area I caught a 3lber last year.  I ended up catching a total of 8 before losing the spoon to a snag.  The sixth one was this 2.0 lb.

I went back today with my kayak to retrieve my spoon.  I found that it had caught a mesh bag tied to a cinder block.  I think it had been used for holding barley they put in last year.  Also snagged on it were a crankbait (which I kept) and a few soft plastic baits.

This morning I went to Beaverdam.  I got on the water about 8:30.  Someone was already fishing the area I was planning to.  I hit that area just before I quit for the day and I did get one small bass.  But before that I did manage to catch one other.  Both were caught on my favorite spoon.
