Nope, not OK.  The ABC Lakes have been changed to catch and release all fish since July 2011.  The staff needs to get those signs out on those 3 lakes.  There is not a single fishing sign of any type on Beech right now sad .

Very hard to follow "phantom" rules. In my book, the lady is in the right as the signs say so (there is one on Cedar very close to where she fishes). None of the signs have been changed.

Curly is right that the staff needs to change them, hopefully the BOD has instructed them to do so. It will be less confusing....

I cannot do it all.  I put together and got the Fish Management Plan approved by the HOA.......which was a major deal.  We need some more folks to get involved besides Ernie and me.  We need some folks to help with keeping these lakes in good shape.  It begins by becoming a Lakes & Ponds Commitee member.  Who's in?

If it is who I am thinking of, I see her quite a bit when walking the dog. Surf rod fishing with the reel upside down? swimming nightcrawlers.

I've seen her numerous times at the Beech inflow with her bucket.  Heavy-set black lady.  Catches mostly panfish and catfish.  Tons of flatheads in that lake.

Not sure they are flatheads or where they came from.....but when we stocked Cedar '94 & 95, it was with channels and whites. I do know that I took quite a few over there when they drained Cedar late in the 20th century.....

Re: saw a mom and child bucketing fish

Definately lots of flatheads (a.k.a. turdrollers) in there.  Stood and watched an mom and daughter catch and release 10 or so in about 15 minutes on night crawlers a year ago in the NW cove.  Helped them take a 3 pound flathead off a hook.  Most were about a pound or less.

Re: saw a mom and child bucketing fish

Knowing where these initial stocked fish came from (Zett's) there is a more than a distinct possibility that the cat's they provided were yellows, also known as a flathead (and the aka name).
