Hey everyone-
This morning my buddy and I took his jon boat out on the Potomac at Algonkian park. We dropped in around 6am and fished until 1330. In total we landed about 10 bass and 4 catfish mostly off small spinners. The bass where a mixture in length between 7-14 inches. We had quite a few bass get off the hook before we got them in the boat. Dagger! The large catfish below was caught off a 7 inch red & black Texas ridged worm.

Good work...looks like things are well with the Potomac! Did you see any substantial grass?

Glad you found some. The smallies have moved to the deeper pools now that the water is low, hot, and minimal flow. Work the 4-5 foot depths with adjacent shallower 1-2 foot riffs and you'll score . We have done well recently in those areas with chrome/blue crankbaits .

Pacemaker- we found some ok grass around the islands they didnt seem to produce as well as the deeper areas like Curly mentioned. most of our fish where caught in the deeper pools around the shallow rocky areas. We where using roaster tails & watermelon sparkle type spinners. We tried to go up stream towards goose creek later on in the morning but decided to not go that far since it was getting hot outside.
