ash rip rap mon 11:30 am

so i am still on this chatterbait quest...

i go to the  rocks, work it all the way down and most of the way back.

again, this is not unusual for this area- not a whiff, not even a baitfish sighting-just one carp burnout- but i bide my time and keep working the bait.

i am feeling like it aint gonna happen. and yes, i start slipping into the glazed daze of the mechanical fisherman.
i think about the remainder of the day, doing what i put off to stop in...

then i get hammered, fish on, five pounder clears the water.

when i am bank fishing and hit a good one up tight, i keep solid tension and walk them along the edge for a moment or two, then actually drag them onto dry land ( with care)

so the pattern continues in that zone- lots of casts, sometimes a skunk, but the highest slugging percentage of any bank fishing i have ever done
