Fished up by Fletchers area and was anchored by 6:30 am.  Could not catch a herring to save my life for the first 2 hrs.  Finally at 8:30 am the herring began biting and I had 4 lines in by 9:00.  Around 9:30 one of the rods went down hard............and this 27" football was safely released back (season does not open until May 16).

Had a couple knock downs, but but no more stripers today.  Got off the water at 12:30.  Caught plenty of herring for Saturday's trip.
