DC Rockfish Report (10-10-08) with PICS

Got to the ramp this morning and another fisherman was looking around inside his boat for something.  He didn't seem happy :'(.  Walked over and he said the he had lost his transome plug somehow.  Told him I might have a spare.  Got his flashlight and found a spare in my boat.  Gave it to him.  He was happy.  big_smile

Heard that some walleye have been caught recenty in DC waters, so I tried for them first before striper fishing.  No walleye up by Chain Bridge, but managed two little smallmouth.  This one was not much bigger than the lure I was using.

Headed back down river about 9am and bumped into the guy I helped this morning.  He was headed back in and did well.  He caught 10 bass, a throwback striper, and a phirana.........yes.......a phirana..........at Blue Plains.  He said he would put the plug in my truck when he got out of the water.

Moved to the WC and started trolling around 10am.  Caught 5 stripers that went 14, 18.5, 19, 20, and 22 inches  wink.  Kept two for dinner.  There were 2 other boats trolling but had nothing to show for it.  That's because they did not have a Petey's Six-Pac. ;D  All 4 legal fish were caught on a Petey's Six-Pac that had twin bucktails attached.  Here are the 2 that I kept.
