Curly and I had to fish today....somewhere. So we chose BDR because it's close, it's relatively clear and the yaks needed to get splashed!
We were on the water be 10:30 AM just as the chill went away. The day was bright and sunny with a light breeze.......absolutely delightful!
And I have no idea when the majors and minors were.
We started out right and Curly covered a lot of water.....
.....and he was rewarded with this nice 19.5 incher with a fat belly! He caught it on a jerk bait, on the pause.
Then we spend several hours cleaning our lures 'cause we did not get another bite until we headed towards the dam......
....when I got to the diving platform (some of you know what I am talking about) I threw a Case Pearl fluke on a weighted hook. It smacked the concrete and plopped in the water. A few seconds later...I am hung up. Well, hooked up is a better term!
This 20 inch fatty came aboard and Curly snapped a pic and measured the fish (I forgot the scale).
Later, I had a bite on an old craw crank but it really was a slow day. These fish did not hit hard and did not fight hard.....they were hunkered down.
But we each caught a pig and we are happy for another day!
