Key Biscayne FL, 2/20

I walked the beach with my wife this morning.....

Air temp around 65, water temp at 70ish.

That alone is worth a report....a few pics to follow when I get back.

I did have a spinning rod and made a couple dozen casts but no hits....I really didn't care!

Another fella was fishing with some shrimp but he did not have any luck although he had a few hits. If he had better equipment, he would have landed some. Regardless, he said he has cought some bonefish here. I will be out with my fly rod early tomorrow.

Conditions changed quickly as the ocean stirred overnight bringing lots of grass in from the depths as well as Man 'o Wars. Those jellies have a nasty sting to them. I was wading, throwing the long rod but it was not productive.

Still.....great medecine for the soul.

....to the bottom!

It was nice to be thigh deep in the ocean versus thigh deep in the snow just two weeks back!

I got stung as a kid in Cuba. Hurt like all get out and had a long scar where the tentacle dug in.

I got stung by a man-o-war in Hawaii on the back of my knee and the only thing that took the pain away was vinegar on the wound and alcohol down my throat!
