11-22-07, Thanksgving bass

I fly fished in the late morning to no aail. Nothing was hitting the array of flies that I thew. I saw Khahn out there but he was fishless also. So I cam in to have some lunch and went back out at 1:15. It was looking ominous to the west and you could see that the cold front was coming in.

The blue heron was working the shoreline .....

.....and he was enjoying a nice lunch!

Then he flew away.....

So I put on the old reliable brown wolly bugger and started throwing. All of the sudden I detected a very slight movement and I set the hook on a nice healthy one pounder.

Take a look at the clouds coming in!

Worked hard for that one.....as soon as I put him back, the winds picked up and it started to rain. Our Indian Summer Thanksgiving was over!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
