Early Morning 6/2/23
Got out early for a shot at topwater from shore. Got a couple swipes early, then a nice one smashed the little popper. I tried to set the hook and my drag was loose. The fish jumped a couple times and a huge Blue Herron came in and tried to steal my fish! I was able to scare him off, tighten the drag and get the fish to shore. A solid 18+" as measured on my rod with beautiful markings.
I tried for about another half hour, then picked up some trash and left. Nice morning.

I wanted to get the trash yesterday, but did not have anything to carry it in. Brought the bag today and will try to do that whenever I bank fish. Sad how people treat the river.
